I surfed a contest this weekend in Bournemouth at the pier. To say the waves were small would be an understatement. They were basically non-existent!!! Here is a picture of the sunset at the end of a long day.

Camilla is still in South Africa at the moment, so I didn't have my #1 supporter at the contest, but a work colleague of mine (Pascal) came down and supported me all day. It was a first for him to be at a surf contest for the whole day. I fully appreciated it and I think he enjoyed it.

Here is one of the guys in a heat surfing what might in other circumstances be called a wave. Believe it or not: this was actually one of the better ones...

Here's the board that I won for coming first. The prizes were put up by Quicksilver, Hot Rocks Restaurant and Just Add Water surf shop. The Bournemouth Christian Surfers were at the beach all day serving tea, coffee and food to all the competitors and spectators which was MUCH appreciated.

This kinda gives you an idea of where the contest was and how small it was.
